CMT Advisory was a financial advisor in the transaction between the Gzella Meat Group and Danish Crown’s subsidiary – the Sokołów Group. The transaction between Gzella Meat Group and Sokołów Group, a subsidiary of Danish Crown, announced in February 2018 was completed on Wednesday, May 30, 2018. During the transaction process, CMT Advisory acted as a financial advisor providing support to the selling party. Pursuant to the documents signed on May 30, 2018, the Sokołów Group (Danish Crown) took control of one of the most modern meat processing plants in Europe, along with its logistics facilities and a network of nearly 250 stores operating under the ‘Delikatesy Mięsne Gzella’ brand. The Meat Group Gzella is a valued producer of cold cuts based in Bory Tucholskie, which has been operating on the market for over 30 years. The main production plant is located in the village of Osie. Its production capacity is over 6,000 tons of meat per month. The Sokołów Group is a subsidiary of Danish Crown, global meat processing company and among the largest in its field. The Group is the World’s largest pork exporter and Europe’s largest pork processor. Danish Crown is Europe’s largest meat processing company and a significant player in the European beef market. The Group generates revenues of DKK 62bn (~EUR 8,3bn). The Sokołów Group is one of the most recognizable brands in the meat industry in Poland. It employs over 7,000 employees. Production sold in 2017 from 7 production plants and 3 subsidiaries amounted to PLN 3,7bn. The transaction value has not been disclosed.
