National Express Group is a UK transport company providing bus and train services in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia, Spain, Portugal, Germany and Morocco.
On 1 February 2022, the RRX RE1 and RRX RE 11 rail lines previously operated by Abellio were taken over by National Express as part of Abellio’s insolvency in Germany. The trains of the RRX RE 1 line run between Aachen and Hamm in western Germany. The trains of the RRX RE 11 line (Düsseldorf – Kassel) also run between western Germany and central Germany.
National Express aims to operate the new lines in the long term. The aim is to consolidate and at the same time further expand its market position in NRW by defending the new lines.
