Grupo Dersa (Chile) has agreed to merge its homecenter subsidiary, Sodimac S.A. (Chile), with Grupo Falabella (Chile) in a transaction valued at 680 Million Dollars. Sodimac is a leading Latin American retailer in the Do-it-Yourself ("DIY") segment based in Chile with sales of US$600 million, and with operations in Colombia. Falabella is one of the most recognized companies in Chile and the largest department store operator in South America with presence in Argentina and Peru. Alpax acted as exclusive financial advisor to Grupo Dersa.
