We are pleased to announce that Liberty Orchards, the 100 year-old manufacturer of confectionery products including the iconic Aplets & Cotlets product line, has been sold to KDV USA, a division of KDV Group. KDV Group is #80 on Forbes’ Top 200 Russian companies and is one of the largest international confectionery companies. KDV has 14 plants operating in Eastern Europe and sells their product globally. By acquiring Liberty Orchards, KDV now has a beachhead in North America to not only grow Liberty Orchards’ operations, but to began distributing 100’s of KDV products. This was a challenging project in that one of the criteria for potential acquirers was to keep the Liberty Orchards operations in their existing locatioin in the state of Washington. Several companies wanted to buy the brand, but KDV was the only potential acquirer that committed to remain in their existing locsation.
