Don Truda

Don is a qualified Chartered Accountant CA (SA), with a CIMA qualification and also holds a Higher Diploma in Company Law. He is the founder and CEO of Merchantec Captal which was established over 12 years ago and is one of the largest independent corporate finance companies in Southern Africa. Don has in excess of 17 years corporate finance transaction advisory experience which has been gained in a variety of industries in both a listed and private entity space. Don has advised on scores of corporate transactions both locally and internationally, with transaction value in excess of R15billion. He also previously worked at KPMG, Gensec and in the mid-90s he provided equity capital to approximately 80 listed IT companies. Don was also a founder of the Archway Venture Capital Investment Fund and sat on boards to provide guidance and assistance in growth of investor companies. Don currently heads up the Merchantec Capital team and is constantly involved with the company’s corporate client base across all business areas, ensuring the smooth operation of various transactions and ongoing compliance with the JSE Listings Requirements.
