John L. Cohn, Managing Director (NY) has extensive background in Department Store Retailing and Consumer Goods. He is renowned an expert in Service Firm Operations. Prior to joining Diamond Capital Advisors, John served for over twenty years as President of Growth Resources Group, where he developed marketing, financial and management strategies for his clients. During this period, John pioneered several techniques for maximizing the reach of small companies, concentrating his efforts on firms with revenues of $5-50,000,000MM. Prior to establishing Growth Resources, John gained significant buy and sell side experience. He was head of Mergers & Acquisitions for Wolf A. Popper Inc., and was a director/advisor to some of the most prominent retail names, including Wal-Mart, Mervyn’s, Hess’s, Lane Crawford and House of Fraser Stores, among others. In addition to Johns work with large department stores, most of his clients have been entrepreneurs who serve niche ethnic and demographic submarkets. In addition, for almost a decade, he served as a Director at Extebank, where he was a member of both the Audit and Investment Committees. John has also been a guest lecturer in Entrepreneurial Studies at Columbia University. He was educated at Brown University and NYU Graduate School of Business Administration (Stern).
