Marcel Goncalves

Marcel is a Chartered Accountant CA (SA) qualified in 2004. He completed his articles at Deloitte in Johannesburg and following qualification as a CA (SA) had a six month auditing Secondment in Deloitte New York and San Diego. On return to South Africa he joined the Deloitte Corporate Finance team for 2 years before joining the Merchantec Capital team. He is currently an executive director of Merchantec Capital and heads up the Corporate Finance team, being the M&A, valuations and capital raisings business areas. He is also highly involved in the Sponsor division in structuring transactions and ensuring the transactions are approved by all regulatory bodies specifically including the JSE and the Takeover Regulations Panel and is an approved Sponsor Executive and Designated Adviser with the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. Marcel is approved as an expert by the JSE and the Takeover Regulations Panel to conduct valuations and expert opinions for regulated and affected transactions.
