Merisis was founded in 2010 and has been a prime enabler of over 100 transactions adding to its credentials across PE and M&A transactions comprising of early stage and mid -market companies. It has done deals with Unicorns like Flipkart, Ola, Byjus and Ixigo and has helped its clients raise capital from marquee names like Tiger Global, Sequoia Capital, Accel, Bessemer, Matrix Partners, Blackstone, GIC and Invesco to name a few.

Prior to starting Merisis Advisors, Sumir spent 15 years in corporates working across Strategy, M&A and turning around companies. He was one of the earliest member of the Corporate Strategy team at the $45 billion Aditya Birla Group working closely with the Chairman executing M&A deals in Financial Services, IT and Consumer. His turnaround experience was at Scandent Group, an IT services company which grew through acquisitions where Sumir turned around acquisitions in UK.
Sumir is a Chartered Accountant and an MBA from XLRI Jamshedpur. In his spare time he advises helps startups and entrepreneurs sharing his experiences and learnings on a pro bono basis. He is passionate about sports – he is into running, golf and racquet sports.
