Francesc Homs began his professional career as a professor of Industrial Economics at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona. Later on he was an MP in the Spanish Congress, Economic Spokesman (1986 – 1999) and Chairman of the Industry and Energy Commission. He was a member of the Barcelona City Council and a member of the Parliament of Catalonia. He has also been President of the Consell Català del Moviment Europeu. Between 2001 and 2003 he was Minister of Economy and Finance of the Generalitat de Catalunya. In the professional and private arena, he has been Executive Chairman of Áreas (1999 – 2001) and Chairman of FERSA (2012 – 2015). He is currently Executive Chairman of INEO CORPORATE, member of the Board of Trustees of Fundació Bancària La Caixa, Director of Criteria and advisor to several companies. He also serves as Chairman of the Advisory Board of the Universitat Internacional de Catalunya.
