The neo-insurance company Atekka has announced that it has raised €5 million in funding from its management (which has become the largest shareholder on this occasion), the investment company Agro Invest and Bioline by InVivo. Voted Insurtech of the year 2021, Atekka offers a new generation of agricultural insurance that combines technical and technological innovation to provide tailor-made support as close as possible to real needs in the field.
Atekka is more digital, more efficient, more transparent, faster and more service-oriented, based on a renewed relationship of trust with agricultural cooperatives and traders. The company won the insurtech of the year 2021 prize awarded by the international competitiveness cluster “Finance-Innovation”. Agricultural insurance for all types of farming, the innovative model proposed by Atekka facilitates access to insurance for all players in the agricultural and agri-food sectors, from seed producers to processors. By insuring the agricultural branches, Atekka protects the income of agricultural professionals and contributes to France’s food sovereignty. This new financial support will allow us to accelerate the development of parametric insurance, by investing in R&D, strategic partnerships, the digital platform and APIs. In the short term, these investments will also allow the launch of new offers (legal protection for farmers, agricultural machinery insurance), to strengthen the service for policyholders by recruiting teams dedicated to local relations and finally to begin its international development, starting with the Benelux countries.
