Teamworks has acquired Opteamal, a Belgium-based technology company specialised in athlete monitoring, performance tracking and workflow management for professional sports clubs. The acquisition forms part of Teamworks’ international growth strategy to expand its presence in European football and to build a fully integrated performance ecosystem.
Founded and headquartered in Belgium, Opteamal is a trusted partner to elite football clubs, with a strong footprint across the Belgian Pro League and beyond. By fully integrating Opteamal into the Teamworks platform, clubs can benefit from a single, unified system that seamlessly connects data and workflows and enhances collaboration between technical, medical and performance teams.
The American unicorn Teamworks currently has limited operations in Belgium. Through the acquisition of local players, Teamworks is purposefully building a global leader in sports data and performance technology.
Most clubs in the English Premier League already use the Teamworks platform. With the addition of Opteamal, all twenty top-tier English clubs will be customers of the newly integrated group.
